In case you’re in one of these places and want to come hear me talk about reading, writing, and other fascinating stuff, I’m adding two dates to my 2011 speaking calendar.
June 24-25th was originally the date of a convention that lost its venue. A couple of other educators and I have teamed up to do an education-oriented weekend at a smaller meeting-place in Valley Forge. The workshops are all focused on academic subjects, and you don’t have to be a home educator to attend. Here’s the schedule (click on the conference title for home page and registration online):

I’ll also be speaking at the California Homeschool Network expo in Ontario on July 22-23. Their conference page is here, but they don’t have an updated schedule yet; I’ll post when they do.
This is one convention that I would actually like to attend — too far away though. I remember a number of years ago, Susan, when you did a similar type of conference in Kansas City, but you were the only speaker. By far the best educational conference I have ever attended, in fact, it spoiled me for any others 😉
I’m signed up and am truly looking forward to it! I will be teaching writing to middle and high school students in the fall, and couldn’t think of a better way to begin preparing (aside from the deep stack of books I’m also reading for review). 🙂
I, too, would like to attend, but Valley Forge is quite far from my KC area home. Any chance you will be back in the KC area with these workshops on writing? Any chance they will be available electronically?
Ontario, CALIFORNIA. Hmmmm……
